Farallon Mining – Campo Morado Commissioning

The Campo Morado Project is located in Guerrero State, Mexico, about 100 miles southwest of Mexico City. The mine is a zinc-rich polymetallic mine that achieved commercial production in April 2009. The processing plant is designed to treat 1,500 tpd of mineralized material and to produce selective copper, lead and zinc concentrates.

The Reliable Controls Corporation project team was originally sent to the mine to assist with commissioning and maintenance of the plant. The team helped create an organized approach to developing the instrumentation and electrical automation needs and a maintenance program for the equipment. Upon arrival, our team grew to include several additional instrument technicians and test engineers. Reliable Controls Corporation was in charge of the construction and testing of the new Water Treatment Plant, which is a key element in getting the proper mix of reagents for plant performance. In addition, RCC team members went through the plant to re-commission the entire plant in parallel with the water treatment facility, as well as helping to train the plant operation and maintenance personnel. As Campo Morados project needs grew, we were ready and able to grow along with them to help achieve their production targets.
